On the 79th Independence Day, Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa will light up in tricolour, showcasing the colours of the Indian national flag, ‘Tiranga’once again. Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world. According to the Indian Consulate in Dubai, the illumination of tricolour is scheduled to be at 7:50 pm. Apart from the Burj Khalifa, several other spots will glow in the Indian national flag’s colours in Dubai.
The 79th Independence Day celebrations also included a flag hoisting ceremony at 6:30 am at the Indian Consulate and at 7:15 am at the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi due to scorching summer heat.

Ahead of Independence Day, various activities were held in Dubai for Indian communities to come together and celebrate. For example, the Indian Consulate held a mega blood donation camp, which involved 270 people, including Ashish Verma, Consul (Passport).
79th I-Day Celebration in India
In India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag at the Red Fort in New Delhi. He addressed the nation and delivered a 103-minute speech, making it the longest speech delivered in history. PM Modi broke his own record for giving the longest speech on the 78th Independence Day in 2024.
