The moment in one’s life, when everything turns you inwards, then outwards; when life longs for quietness…. peace and it is all about gratitude, love, and forgiveness, for self and for others, it is in many ways, the arrival of awareness and alignment to ‘spirituality’ in one’s life!
The pathway to experiencing the ‘divinity’ within, and to the true calling of life, is best summarized, in the quote by Shri Ramana Maharishi: “The inquiry ‘Who am I?’ is the principal means to the removal of all misery and the attainment of the supreme bliss.”
The serenity and contentment, that Nature—the Planet—the Universe offers, alongside all the aliveness and vivacity, is ‘oneness’ with ‘divinity,’ to be experienced, with all love, graciousness, humility, and purity.
Spirituality, walks into life, when the shift from the ‘outwards’ to ‘inwards’ starts flowing in. When the realization dawns, that life is a blessing and not a rat race to be lost in. Neither a journey of accumulating worldly pleasures viz: money, name -fame, power, status etc. nor the insane madness to the never-ending ‘want’ and ‘greed’…. but is for a much deeper purpose and that is the complete surrender of the ‘I’ and the attachments.
Spirituality, brings in the ‘calmness’ and ‘contentment’ to life. Insecurities cease to exist. Life evolves, way beyond the world of ‘materialism’ and physical attractions. Upheavals and Ups and downs, do shake you, but the awareness and awakening, calms you and blesses you with unmatched – unparalleled firmness, trust, and complete surrender to the ‘Universe’- the ‘Power’- for the life journey, ahead! Complaints and blame game, cease to exist. Life moves, beyond desires and greed. Misconduct, lies, humiliation, inequality, unfairness- all are visible and experienced, but there is faith and patience within. The Love, humanness, respect, and dignity for self and from there for others and the universe, is so overpowering and overwhelming, that one finds an unsaid calmness within. Life flows, onwards and upwards with a ‘FORCE’, that is subtle yet very overpowering. Spirituality, helps one, wade through all the tyring and testing times with absolute ‘trust’ and ‘patience’….
Spirituality, is not about sitting in the ‘Himalayas’ or becoming a ‘sanyasi’ – a spiritual way of life distances you from the unreal ways of the worldly life and the sensual pleasures – the physicality of it. It draws you towards purity of love, be it in the context of your work, the opposite sex, or any other relationships or just humanity in general.
A spiritual
attitude and approach to
everyday life
1. The consciousness that the ‘soul’ – ‘åtm’ is part of the ‘supreme soul’ – ‘paramtm’…
2. Awareness that every thought, word, and act – karma, is in the presence of the ‘divinity’
3. ‘I’ is non-existent. It’s about oneness!
4. All is in service of that ‘universe’–the ‘divinity’
5. You start loving, being in the moment, being ‘present to the present’ with gratitude
6. Worldly life and the sensual pleasures of mind and body, are overpowered by the yearning to return to one’s essential nature- that of compassion, purity, peace, love, divinity
7. The awareness that finally, everything is purely at the soul level.
Spirituality brings in clarity of the ultimate ‘truth’- that it is all about oneness with God. Life’s intent transforms!
