On Friday, Jaisalmer witnessed drizzles, and there was snowfall in Mount Abu and Fatehpur, attributed to the impact of a new western disturbance. The cloudy sky prevailed in various parts of the state, leading to a rise in temperature and providing some relief from the cold. In 19 districts, the mercury remained below 10 degrees. Mount Abu experienced the coldest night at 1.5 degrees, while Fatehpur recorded a minimum temperature of 1.9 degrees.
According to the Meteorological Department, besides Mount Abu and Fatehpur, Sikar recorded a minimum temperature of 2.8 degrees, Churu 4.2, Sangriya 4.4, Pilani 4.5, Karauli 5.4, Alwar 5.8, Bhilwara 6.3, Sriganganagar 6.5, Sirohi 7.6, Banasthali and Dabok recorded 8.1 degrees, Phalodi 8.6, Alwar 9, Jaipur and Ajmer 9.3, Chittorgarh 9.4, and Dholpur 9.5 degrees. Jalore recorded the highest day temperature at 30.2 degrees, while Barmer had the warmest night at 11.9 degrees.
The influence of the western disturbance led to light cloud cover in Jaipur throughout the day, causing an increase in the day temperature and a slight decrease in the night temperature. On Friday, Jaipur recorded a maximum temperature of 25.4 degrees and a minimum temperature of 9.3 degrees. On Thursday, the maximum temperature was 25.2 degrees, and the minimum temperature was 9.8 degrees.
Jaipur’s air quality has been consistently deteriorating and was recorded in the Orange Zone for two consecutive days, with an AQI of 247 on Friday and 228 on Thursday. Additionally, specific areas in Jaipur reported varying AQI levels: Shastri Nagar 248, Adarsh Nagar 178, Police Commissionerate 284, Muralipura 206, Sitapura RIICO 276, and Mansarovar 291.
