Hailing from Puri, Odisha, Samir Rishu Mohanty, known as Rapper Big Deal, recently shared a heartfelt story about his parents on Instagram. Born to an Indian father and a Japanese mother, Mohanty revealed how their love story is symbolized by a hotel in Puri.
In the video, Mohanty begins by recounting, “This is the story of my mom and dad.” He explains that his mother, an author, had visited Puri during her college world tour and fell in love with the place. “She liked Puri a lot. So, after graduation, she wanted to settle down in Puri and continue writing books. But everyone needs a source of income, so she decided to build a hotel for Japanese tourists,” he says in Odia.
He further details that, at the time, many Japanese tourists visited Puri, but his mother was unable to purchase land due to her foreign nationality. She later met his father, and they married.
“Together, they became business partners, building the hotel and naming it ‘Love and Life.’ This hotel still stands in Puri today,” Mohanty adds.
In the video, he concludes, “It’s a testament to my mom and dad’s love story. It’s true that some love stories last a lifetime.”
