A five-year-old boy was badly injured when he was run over by a car inside the SG Grand Society in Rajendra Nagar Extension, Ghaziabad, at around 4:30 PM on February 24. The woman who was driving stopped for a second and fled the spot thereafter. The shocking footage from the CCTV has created an outrage among the residents.
Woman Escapes
The CCTV recordings show that a white Honda City entered the society premises and ran into the child who was playing with other children. The front wheel of the car ran over his body, causing him to suffer a fractured right thigh bone, and several cuts to his right hand, left leg, and back.

Despite his critical condition, the child has fortunately stopped short of dying. A woman, identified as Sandhya, stopped the vehicle, got out, and assessed the child, but after a minute, fled the scene.
Investigation by Police
Following the grievous incident, the victim’s father complained to the Nandgram police station. Authorities have filed charges against Sandhya under Sections 281 and 125B of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).
The police then started an active investigation to bring the responsible party to justice for the suffering child. The child is receiving medical treatment at Atlanta Hospital in Vasundhara. As for his medical report, his condition is stable but serious.
The incident has drawn wide condemnation from residents of SG Grand Society, who are calling for strict legal action against the negligent driver. The residents also called upon the authorities to impose stringent traffic rules in their residential areas to prevent such reckless driving in the future.
