Flying with pets can often be a stressful ordeal, particularly for owners of larger dogs. Many airlines require bigger dogs to travel in cargo or remain confined to cramped carriers. However, one lucky Dalmatian named Spotty had an entirely different experience, flying in business class on a Singapore Airlines flight from Singapore to Tokyo. The four-year-old Swiss Dalmatian quickly became an internet sensation after a video of her enjoying the luxurious journey went viral.

Spotty’s Smooth Journey

Spotty’s five-and-a-half-hour flight was anything but ordinary. Before boarding, she relaxed in the airport lounge, and once on the plane, she settled comfortably into a plush business-class seat. The video shared by her owner showed Spotty wagging her tail, watching a movie, and even taking a nap—all without needing a single bathroom break. Her impeccable behaviour left social media users both impressed and curious about how she managed to remain so calm and well-behaved throughout the flight.

Social Media Reacts

Spotty’s viral video sparked a wave of admiration and questions online. Many users were amazed at her composed demeanor, with one user commenting, “She’s better behaved than most passengers!” Others expressed curiosity about pet travel logistics, wondering how Spotty managed long flights without a bathroom break. Another dog lover added, “I have five Dalmatians; I wish I could bring them all onboard like this!”

Addressing the Questions

To clear up concerns, Spotty’s owner explained that the Dalmatian did not have food or water during the flight, ensuring she wouldn’t need an urgent bathroom break. “It was just 5.5 hours from Singapore to Tokyo on an 8 AM flight. No breakfast, and no water until one hour before landing, and she was perfectly fine,” the owner shared. Additionally, the owner confirmed that Spotty was allowed in business class because she is a registered service dog. “Singapore Airlines only permits fully vaccinated, government-certified service dogs in the cabin,” they clarified.

A New Era of Pet-Friendly Travel?

Spotty’s extraordinary flight experience has sparked conversations about pet-friendly travel. Many dog owners are now wishing they could provide their furry companions with the same level of comfort during air travel. As discussions around pet travel continue, one thing is certain—Spotty has secured her place as the internet’s favorite four-legged frequent flyer.
