In a heart-stopping moment, two forest officials had a near-death encounter when a wild elephant charged at them in Karnataka’s Hassan district. The dramatic incident was caught on camera and has since gone viral on social media.
Elephant Turns Aggressive, Officials Flee for Their Lives
The incident took place in Belur Taluka village, where a wild elephant strayed into farmland, causing panic among locals. Upon receiving the alert, forest officials Prashant and Sunil arrived at the scene to safely guide the animal back into the forest. However, instead of retreating, the elephant turned aggressive and started chasing them.
A viral video shows the two officials running frantically as the massive elephant follows closely behind. Fortunately, they managed to escape unhurt.

Similar Elephant Attacks in the Past
This is not the first time a wild elephant has displayed aggressive behavior towards humans. In a previous incident in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri, an elephant attacked a JCB machine after allegedly being provoked and teased. The powerful animal was seen lifting the heavy machine with its trunk, leaving onlookers in shock.
Forest officials continue to warn people against provoking wild animals, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a safe distance and allowing professionals to handle such situations.
