Rahul Gandhi’s latest Instagram post has captured the hearts of many, and for all the right reasons. In the post, the opposition leader reveals who his mother, Sonia Gandhi, considers her favorite – and it’s neither him nor his sister, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Can you guess who it is? Here’s a hint: it’s a furry friend!
“Mum’s favorite?” Rahul captioned the post, which features photos that clearly show Noorie, the adorable dog he gifted his mother last year, as the apple of her eye.
The images capture a beaming Sonia Gandhi holding Noorie in a dog backpack. In the first picture, Noorie is distracted, gazing away from the camera, while the second photo beautifully captures the pup looking straight ahead.
Since its upload, the post has garnered over 6.5 lakh likes, and the numbers continue to climb. The heartwarming share has prompted a wave of comments from followers.
One Instagram user commented, “This woman has shown such elegance through thick and thin! Please do post more of such images that give a glimpse of humanity in politicians! So so so needed!” Another added, “This has all my heart.” A third chimed in with, “Thank you for adopting an indie baby.” Many others responded with heart emojis.
Noorie came into the Gandhi family last year during Rahul’s trip to Goa. He brought the pup from a local family, flew her to Delhi, and surprised his mother with the new addition. Rahul also took to social media to introduce Noorie as the “newest member of their family.”
