In the clip, the seller drops an egg into oil so black that most netizens jokingly called it more ‘fuel’ than oil. After cooking it, he picks it up with his bare hand without hesitation and combines it with some meat.

This unorthodox cooking technique angered people as viewers reported egregious hygiene and health concerns. The anecdote happened supposedly in Pakistan, although its validity is still unconfirmed.

The video was initially posted on Reddit using the handle ‘Brave-Sky263’ with the title ‘Pakistani street food’. The video had received more than 25,000 views in two days. Times Now couldn’t verify independently where the footage originated from.

Online responses flooded in, with most users making fun of the vendor’s cooking
method. One commented, “Can I have an order of freshly slapped sludge my good man?”
Another quipped, “Dude whipping up with motor oil from WW1.”
Some of the other derisive comments were, “The legendary petroleum egg and meat paste,” and “This isn’t stupid food, this is death inducing poison.”
