Pakistani actress Mahira Khan won over fans by replicating journalist Chand Nawab’s renowned reporting video at a railway station on Eid. She was seen cracking jokes in her recent Instagram post, and fans couldn’t help but laugh.
Attired in a stunning red salwar suit, Mahira aptly mimicked Chand Nawab, carrying a mic and showing exasperated faces. She recreated a pretend reporting session like the journalist’s actual viral video on Eid. A passerby photobombed her photo in an unexpected move, making her clearly irked—just like Chand Nawab in the actual clip.

Sharing the reel, Mahira captioned it, “Eid aaney waali hai aur Train station pe shoot thi – Chaand Nawab toh banta hai” (Eid is coming, and since we had a shoot at the train station, recreating Chand Nawab was a must).
All the while, fans swamped the comment section with appreciation. One wrote, “15 years on, still relevant ????????”, another wrote, “We didn’t know we needed this.” Others referred to it as the “BEST thing on the internet today” and appreciated Mahira’s performance.
The Chand Nawab video went viral when it went on to inspire Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s role in the 2015 Bollywood hit Bajrangi Bhaijaan starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor.
In 2015, the original Karachi Se clip was even auctioned as a non-fungible token (NFT) on the Foundation app. Speaking about the viral moment, Chand Nawab said, “In 2008, a video of me surfaced on YouTube in which I fumbled while reporting Eid Festival frenzy at a Railway station.”. I was always interrupted while reporting, and my fumbling and anger made this video go viral, with millions of hits.” He further stated that his popularity increased again in 2016, when Kabir Khan, an Indian filmmaker, used his viral video as the base for Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Nawab also recognized the love and appreciation he had received from India and Pakistan, especially from Salman Khan and the cast of the movie.
