'Lugaai Naachhan': Haryana Family's Wedding Card Invite Goes Viral
Wedding cards have now become witty and funny in this viral age. A wedding card invitation from a family in Haryana has gone viral on social media because it uses local dialects of Haryanvi. It is fresh language used in a traditional way to communicate the details of a wedding. The card has been printed by the Deswal family of Panipat for a wedding on November 26. The quirky language and the titles of function have left many in splits.
It all starts with a playful sentence in Haryanvi. “Bade chaav te nyoota dere, sab kaam chhodke aana ho geya, Wakht likhdya, waat khadi raheja sar pe kasuta ulhana ho gaya.” Translated it gives an otherwise formal ceremony some much-needed humour. A series of fun local flavour functions can be listed – the wedding event has been called “Biyaah ka haal-chal,” and for ladies‘ sangeet has playfully titled “Lugaai naachhan ka time.
The post went viral, garnering hundreds of likes within minutes, and varied reactions came from all sides, with some calling it a quintessential example of the Haryanvi dialect, and others saying it was a nice change of pace from regular invites. Some even suggested that“the time for turmeric grinding“ might be added to future invite lists as well. The funny wedding invitation is still circulating.
