The hashtag #MenToo started trending on social media platform X following the tragic death of 34-year-old Atul Subhash from Uttar Pradesh, who was found hanging from the ceiling at his Bengaluru residence. Many social media users have blamed “the system” for his death and are demanding justice for Subhash, who worked at a private firm in Bengaluru.
Before taking his life, Subhash recorded a video and left behind a 24-page suicide note, accusing his wife and her family of harassment. Preliminary investigations revealed that Subhash was dealing with marital issues, with his wife having filed multiple cases against him in Uttar Pradesh. Authorities reported that Subhash had hung a placard in his home that read, “Justice is due.”

In his final video, Subhash explained that his wife had filed multiple cases against him, which he believed contributed to his decision to end his life. “My wife has registered nine cases against me. Six cases are in the lower court and three in the high court,” Subhash said in the video before taking the drastic step.
