A young woman in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, has been hospitalized after allegedly being raped by her brother’s employer, Sumit, according to a formal complaint filed by her family. The victim’s family alleges that she was lured to a hotel, sexually assaulted, and then abandoned outside her home late at night.
Detailed Account of the Incident
The victim’s mother, a resident of a colony within the Dehat Kotwali area, reported that her son’s boss, Sumit, had cultivated a relationship with their family, frequently visiting their home. The mother, who is handicapped and had previously lost her husband, stated that Sumit began displaying inappropriate behaviors towards her daughter.
On March 4th, Sumit reportedly enticed the young woman to a hotel located on Anupshahr Road. There, he allegedly coerced and raped her, threatening her life and the lives of her family members when she protested. Following the assault, he placed her in an e-rickshaw and left her near her residence late at night.
Victim’s Deteriorating Health
Upon reaching home, the victim immediately went to the bathroom. Her condition rapidly deteriorated, and she eventually collapsed. Her younger sister attempted to assist her, but she lost consciousness. Initially, the family took her to a nearby private hospital, where she received treatment for three days before being discharged. However, her health continued to decline, leading to her readmission to the district hospital due to excessive bleeding.
Police Investigation and Response
The Dehat Kotwali police have registered a case against Sumit, a resident of Moradabad, based on the family’s complaint. Authorities have initiated a search for the accused, conducting raids in an attempt to apprehend him.
“A report has been filed based on the complaint. The investigation is underway, and the girl is undergoing medical examination. Statements will soon be recorded before the court. Raids are also being conducted in search of the accused,” stated ASP Nagar, Rijul Kumar.
Initial Investigation Suggests Potential Love Affair, Further Probe Underway
Preliminary police investigations have indicated the possibility of a consensual relationship. However, officials have emphasized that a thorough investigation is necessary to determine the true nature of the incident.
“The situation will become clear only after the investigation is completed,” an official stated.
The victim’s family is demanding swift justice, and the community is awaiting the outcome of the police investigation.
