The Mumbai Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell has summoned Orhan Awatramani for questioning in a ₹252 crore mephedrone drug trafficking case. His name came up after a major suspect was arrested, pulling him out of the party scene and into a major criminal investigation.

How was this large drug network discovered? The case started in March 2024 when police raided a farm in Sangli, Maharashtra, and found a major mephedrone production unit. They recovered over 126 kg of the drug, valued at ₹252 crore. Things moved quickly in November 2025 with the arrest of Mohammad Salim Shaikh after his deportation from Dubai. He is thought to be an associate of fugitive drug boss Salim Dola of the Dawood Ibrahim network.

Why is a social media influencer being summoned by the narcotics cell? Orry’s name surfaced during the questioning of arrested accused Mohammad Salim Shaikh. Shaikh told police he arranged high-profile rave parties in India and abroad for celebrities and public figures. He claimed Orry attended these drug-laden events. Police have now called Orry—and other actors and a politician—to verify these statements and check for any possible connection to the larger drug network.
