In a major initiative to tackle medical emergencies in Indian cities, Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa declared on Thursday that the company will now provide an “ambulance in 10 minutes” feature via its app.
Dhindsa clarified that this effort is a primary step towards addressing the challenge of prompt and reliable ambulance services in urban locations, with the introduction of the first five ambulances in Gurugram commencing Thursday.
Using the Blinkit app, individuals will be able to reserve Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances as the service grows to additional areas.
What Features Will Blinkit Ambulances Have?
The CEO indicated that these ambulances are equipped with vital life-saving apparatus, such as oxygen cylinders, AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), stretchers, monitors, suction devices, and essential emergency medications. Each ambulance will also include a paramedic, an assistant, and a trained driver.
The service will be offered at “an affordable cost. ” Dhindsa stressed, “Profit is not a goal here. We will run this service at an affordable cost for customers and invest in genuinely addressing this critical issue for the long term. ”
Blinkit Ambulance Services To Expand To Other Cities Soon
Dhindsa revealed that the company intends to launch ambulance services in all major cities throughout India within the following two years.
“We are thoughtfully scaling this service up, as it is both vital and new to us. Our goal is to expand to all main cities over the next two years,” he added.
“Let’s do our part and ensure an ambulance is always accessible. You never know when you might save a life,” Dhindsa concluded.
