Delhi’s Central District Police have exposed a s@x racket operating in the city, leading to the arrest of 22 women and seven brokers. The gang allegedly facilitated escort services by sending women to clients using Rapido bike taxis. Among those apprehended, some are foreign nationals.
The operation is still ongoing, with police teams actively conducting raids to nab other suspects. According to District Deputy Commissioner of Police M. Harshvardhan, it is too early to disclose details about the full extent of the gang’s operations.
How the Racket Operated
Investigations have revealed that the gang operated through an online network. Customers searching for escort services would find specific mobile numbers, after which they would receive photos of women. Once a selection was made, the rates were negotiated, and the chosen woman was sent to the client’s location via a Rapido bike taxi.
Senior officers received intelligence about the gang’s activities in Paharganj, prompting the recent series of raids.
Foreign Nationals Among Those Rescued
In one of the major raids, police found six foreign women in two hotels in Chuna Mandi, Paharganj. Further raids led to the rescue of 16 more women and the arrest of seven brokers, including the main accused, Nazim and Rihan, who were allegedly running the racket.
Police sources confirm that the investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to track down other individuals linked to the illegal operation. Meanwhile, senior officers are refraining from making detailed public statements until further arrests are made.
