Violent Gunfight In Delhi’s Welcome Area: Two Injured After 50 Shots Fired

New Delhi: Late on Saturday evening, Raja Market in Delhi’s Welcome area was rocked by gunfire as two groups engaged in a violent clash, exchanging around 50 rounds. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Welcome police station in North East Delhi.

Two individuals, including a young girl, sustained injuries during the firing. Upon receiving the alert, Delhi Police promptly arrived at the scene and have since launched an investigation.

Dispute

Reports indicate that the dispute involved two groups of jeans traders in the Welcome area. The argument quickly intensified, with both sides resorting to firing at each other using country-made pistols.

The gunfire reverberated through the market, sparking panic among locals. As the shots rang out, chaos ensued, prompting those on the road to scramble for cover. Many sought refuge inside nearby shops in a bid to stay safe.

Two injured

Fear and confusion gripped the market as the chaotic scene unfolded. Two individuals, including a woman, were hit by stray bullets during the exchange and are currently receiving medical treatment for their injuries.

Delhi Police have detained four suspects in connection with the incident, and an investigation is ongoing.
