‘Viduthalai Part 1’ followed Constable Kumaresan, played by Soori, who was tasked with capturing Perumal Vaathiyaar, portrayed by Vijay Sethupathi, the leader of the extremist group Makkal Padai. The film concluded with Perumal urging Kumaresan to uncover the truth behind a train derailment. The sequel aims to explore Perumal’s backstory in more depth.
The cast includes returning members Soori, Bhavani Sre, Rajeev Menon, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Chetan, with Anurag Kashyap joining the cast, reuniting with Vijay Sethupathi after ‘Maharaja.’ The music is composed by Ilaiyaraaja. ‘Viduthalai Part 2,’ also set to release in Telugu as ‘Vidudala Part 2,’ is adapted from Jeyamohan’s short story ‘Thunaivan.’ Initially intended as one film, it was divided into two parts due to its length. Both parts were shot back-to-back, and the sequel is now nearing completion, expected to hit theaters by the end of the year.
Produced by Vetrimaaran and Elfred Kumar, ‘Viduthalai Part 2’ is generating excitement with its gripping storyline and strong performances. The first look promises another intense and dramatic cinematic experience, continuing the compelling saga from ‘Viduthalai Part 1.’ Fans of Vijay Sethupathi, Manju Warrier, and Vetrimaaran can look forward to this highly anticipated sequel.
