An elderly couple traveling to Goa by train made a startling discovery when they found a snake hidden behind the window curtain of their lower berth. They were on the second AC coach of a train from Jasidih, Jharkhand.

Noticing something slithering behind the curtain, they examined it more closely and identified the venomous snake. They promptly informed their son and reached out to IRCTC personnel for help.

Ankit Kumar Sinha, the young man who booked the tickets for his parents, shared a video of the incident on ‘X’ along with the berth and train number. He tweeted, “Hi @IRCTCofficial @RailMinIndia Snake found in Train -17322 (Jasidih to Vasco De Gama) on berth on date of 21st Oct This complain is on behalf of my parents who are travelling in AC 2 Tier -(A2 31 , 33). Please take immediate action. I have attached Videos for reference.”

He further urged the Railway Minister, stating, “@AshwiniVaishnaw looking at the seriousness of the situation, your immediate attention is required.”

The Railway service team quickly responded to Sinha’s tweet, and the matter was swiftly addressed. Railway staff arrived, captured the venomous snake, and safely removed it from the train.

This incident occurred on the Vasco-Da Gama Weekly Express, which operates between Jharkhand and Goa. It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first occurrence of snakes on Indian Railways; a five-foot-long snake was discovered on the Garib Rath Express (12187) in September, causing panic among passengers.
