The head of a young man’s sister, whom he killed over her relationship, was found on him when he headed to the police station in Barabanki, UP, on Friday, according to the police.
After an altercation between Riyaz and his sister Aashifa, the incident happened in the Mithwara village in the Fatehpur region of Uttar Pradesh.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Mishra, Riyaz is accused of beheading his sister with a sharp object while on his way to the police station holding her head in his hand.
According to the police, Aashifa and Chand Babu, a local of the same village, just eloped.
On the basis of a complaint made by the woman’s relatives, the police eventually located Aashifa and detained Babu, they added.
After gathering the necessary evidence, a police team went to the scene of the woman’s beheading and sent the body out for an autopsy.
Locals claimed that Riyaz was against his sister’s relationship, and the two frequently argued over it, according to the police.
