In a shocking incident, a youth in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district was allegedly “deceived” into undergoing a gender change surgery by his “boyfriend,” with the alleged complicity of doctors at a medical college hospital.

The victim, from the Shahpur area, recounted that he was admitted to the hospital under the pretense of needing surgery for a medical condition, as informed by his “friend.”

”I was administered something after which I became unconscious…when I woke up I found that my genitals were removed….I was told by the doctors that I had turned into a girl,” the victim alleged.

Reports indicate that the victim, employed at a paper mill on Bhopa Road, had been “friends” with Om Prakash, a fellow worker from the same district. The two individuals belonged to different religions.

The victim further alleged that Om Prakash had been ”sexually exploiting” him for several months by threatening to harm his family and seize his land in the village.

”After the surgery, Om Prakash told me that I have become a girl and now we can get married,” the victim said, adding that Om Prakash threatened to kill his family if he refused.

The victim’s family reported the ”forced sex change” to the police, but no action was initially taken against Om Prakash.

The alleged ”sex change surgery” reportedly occurred earlier this month.

On Wednesday, Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) activists staged a protest outside the medical college hospital, demanding action against the doctors involved. ”The doctors of the medical college hospital are also involved in this forced sex change surgery,” stated BKU state general secretary Syam Lal, who led the protests.

In response, medical college officials denied the allegations, claiming the surgery was performed with the man’s “consent.” ”He was also counselled and explained everything before the surgery,” said a hospital official in Muzaffarnagar.

The police confirmed that a case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
