A video showcasing a robotic dog navigating rugged terrain has recently gained attention on social media. Manufactured by a Chinese company, this robotic canine is designed to handle challenging tasks, remaining “unstoppable” even in “extreme weather conditions.” Reactions to the video have been mixed, with some viewers excited by the technological advancements, while others voiced concerns about its capabilities.
The robotic dog, developed by Deep Robotics, is featured in a YouTube video titled “Extreme Off-Road | DEEPRobotics Lynx All-Terrain Robot.” In the video, the four-legged Lynx robot effortlessly maneuvers over rocks, low walls, and steep inclines, showcasing its agility and stability. The robot shifts seamlessly between four-legged and two-legged stances, performing sharp turns, backflips, and navigating complex obstacles with ease.
Unlike its predecessors, this model is equipped with all-terrain wheels instead of feet, allowing it to handle diverse conditions. According to ‘The Sun’, the Lynx robot can withstand extreme temperatures from -20°C to 55°C and is waterproof, making it operational even during heavy rainfall. In another clip, the robot demonstrates its ability to carry up to 20 kg of supplies, such as food and water.

Social media responses reflect both awe and apprehension. “The military application of this technology is terrifying,” one YouTube user commented. Another remarked, “That’s amazing. I like how it adapted to rolling down the hill and slowing its speed by tilting the entire body sideways. Perfect manoeuvrability.”
Others expressed a sense of foreboding, with one viewer stating, “Oh s**t, that’s actually deadly,” and another humorously commenting, “While you thought it was a robot dog, it stood up rollerskating toward you and was about to punch with its front wheels.” A fifth user added, “This is insanity. People have no conception of what is coming.”
Deep Robotics describes the X30 model as having “unique integrated perception,” allowing it to operate autonomously in challenging environments like darkness, intense light, and even areas with no light source. The robot’s battery life ranges between 2.5 and 4 hours, providing ample time for extended operations.
