Dr. S. Jaishankar highlighted the noteworthy advancements India has achieved in the last ten years in the fight against terrorism. He emphasized that his party (BJP) is determined to fight against terrorism.

During an exclusive conversation with NewsX,  Dr. Jaishankar asserted, “Unlike 26/11, we will not turn the other cheek. If anything happens in India, there will be consequences.”

The Modi government’s determination to fight terrorism is reflected in this firm position. Terrorist attacks have significantly decreased in India since Prime Minister Modi took office in 2014. Remarkably, large urban cities have remained unscathed by terror acts in the past decade.

India’s anti-terror efforts have evolved considerably from the days of merely presenting records to Pakistan following tragic events that claimed numerous innocent lives. The infamous 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks serve as a sensitive example, where despite India’s diplomatic efforts to extradite the mastermind Hafiz Saeed, little progress has been made. The perpetrators of this horrific attack continue to evade justice.

However, in contrast, after the devastating Uri and Pulwama attacks in 2016 and 2019, India responded decisively to the Pakistan-backed terrorists. Dr. Jaishankar highlighted the significance of India’s surgical strikes, stating, “I think that the message has gone through.”

In response to Canada’s unjustified involvement in the support of terrorists from Khalistani, Dr. Jaishankar remarked, “The Prime Minister of Canada has said things that were none of his business.”
