The White House released a photo of US President Donald Trump watching a military strike on Yemen’s Houthi rebels. The attack killed 31 people. On Saturday, Trump confirmed that he had ordered the operation, stating that his administration had unleashed “hell” on the Iran-backed group.
Russia Was Informed Before the Strike
According to The New York Post, the Trump administration informed Russia about the attack beforehand. Officials described it as an “effort to bolster diplomatic communication.” Shortly after the strike, the White House shared an image of Trump monitoring the attack on television.

Trump’s Image Sparked Discussions
In the photo, Trump wore a black headset, a golf outfit, and a red MAGA hat with his autograph on the brim. The post’s caption stated, “President Trump is taking action against the Houthis to defend US shipping assets and deter terrorist threats.” Furthermore, the statement emphasized, “For too long, American economic and national threats have been under assault by the Houthis. Not under this presidency.”
Key Officials Were Present
Another image on X (formerly Twitter) showed Trump watching real-time footage of the bombings. National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and Secretary of State Marco Rubio stood nearby, observing the situation.
Houthis Vowed Revenge
As the death toll climbed to 31, the US warned Iran to stop supporting the Houthis. Houthi-run health authorities confirmed the number to Al-Masirah TV. Meanwhile, the group condemned the attack as a “war crime.” In a statement, they declared, “Our Yemeni armed forces are fully prepared to respond to escalation with escalation.”
Iran Reacted Strongly
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi dismissed Washington’s warning. He wrote on X, “The United States Government has no authority, or business, dictating Iranian foreign policy.” Furthermore, he urged the US to stop the “killing of Yemeni people.”
Biden Took Similar Actions
This marked Trump’s first strike on Yemen since returning to the White House. Previously, the US had conducted similar attacks during Joe Biden’s presidency. The strike came in response to Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel. Since then, the Houthis have created chaos in the Red Sea, openly expressing support for Hamas.
US Confirmed Its Communication with Russia
The US State Department confirmed that Rubio had informed Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov about the strike. Officials stated that this move aligned with a previous agreement to restore US-Russia communication.
Trump Issued a Stern Warning
Later, Trump took to Truth Social to condemn the Houthis. He wrote, “They have waged an unrelenting campaign of piracy, violence, and terrorism against American and other ships, aircraft, and drones.”
Finally, in a strong warning, he added, “YOUR ATTACKS MUST STOP, STARTING TODAY.” He declared that the US would use “overwhelming force” to maintain peace and security.
