During the escalatory rhetoric between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, Russian media has redoubled its criticism of the US President. The Kremlin leader is also angered by the fact that the Republican leader openly chastised his refusal to genuinely pursue peace talks with Ukraine.
Trump Calls Out Putin, Approves Aid for Ukraine
Trump recently expressed his frustration with the impasse in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, saying to reporters that Putin says “a lot of bulls***”. Meanwhile, Trump authorised a new military aid package for Ukraine, providing desperately needed weapons to Kyiv’s army, in an effort to put further pressure on Putin.
The Kremlin has pursued relentless attacks on Trump as a response to the US President’s sudden policy shift.
Russian Media Questions Trump’s Marriage and Sanity
Putin’s defenders now aim their criticism at the US President for his marriage to Melania as well as his sanity. Trump’s assertion that Melania has helped him expose Putin’s lies appears to have inflamed their ire as Ukrainians celebrated the First Lady for taking a stand.
“My conversations with him [Putin] are always very pleasant. I say, isn’t that a very lovely conversation? And then the missiles go off that night,” the 47th President said. “I go home, I tell the first lady: I spoke with Vladimir today. We had a wonderful conversation. She said: Really? Another city was just hit.”
Dudakov Speculates on Trump-Melania Relationship
Malek Dudakov, according to the Express, offered speculations about the health of Trump’s marriage while appearing on a show on Russia 1, the state television channel.
“In my opinion Trump has certain marital problems,” he said. “Melania spends most of her time not at the White House, but in New York, along with her son, who recently enrolled in a University. She doesn’t even live with Trump.”
The show included offensive photos from Melania’s history with the hope of tarnishing her image. As she dated real estate tycoon Trump then, she became featured in GQ magazine in 2000.
GQ Shoot from 2000 Resurfaces on Russian Airwaves
Melania stripped bare on a mat within Trump’s Boeing 727, handcuffed to a leather briefcase and wearing only jewelry, for a photo shoot for British GQ’s March 2000 edition.
Dudakov also ridiculed Trump for his failing popularity in the US.
“Trump’s ratings have certainly fallen,” he said. “The latest YouGov polls show only 40%. He has to somehow climb out of this hole. We will see whether or not Donald Trump’s able to do it.”
