Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs are seeing another hot and muggy day on Wednesday as a heat wave continues for its fifth straight day. Fox 29 reports that the National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for the city and surrounding areas due to high temperatures and abnormal humidity.

Heat Advisory and Safety Precautions

Temperatures will be in the 90s again. The humidity will add to the heat. According to Fox 29, the heat advisory will remain in effect for most of the day. Residents in the area are requested to drink plenty of water, avoid outdoor activities, and take care of the elderly and pets.

The weather in Philadelphia may become stormy later, with thunderstorms and scattered showers forecasted after 3 pm local time. The weather can cause heavy rain over a short span, leading to flash floods in some locations.
