US Vice President Kamala Harris will be embarking on a major overseas trip from 13th January to 17th January; this will be probably her last foreign travel stint before the office tenure comes to an end for her on January 20th, according to the White House. Her husband, Doug Emhoff will accompany her at three crucial stops: Singapore, Bahrain, and Germany.
On January 15th, Harris would visit Changi Naval Base for a meeting of regional leaders during her stopover in Singapore. The following day, she leaves for Bahrain; there, the leaders she should meet with the leaders, take a tour round the Naval Support Activity Bahrain, which is central headquarters for Naval Forces Central Command and the USS 5TH Fleet.
Harris plans to visit Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany on January 16 to meet with members of the US Air Force’s 52nd Fighter Wing.
Throughout the trip, Harris will focus on the accomplishments of the Biden-Harris Administration: highlighting US partnerships in the regions; noting the essential role of American military forces in sustaining global security; and, at every stop, reaffirming the ongoing national security interests of the United States. She also will take time to connect with US servicemembers serving abroad.
The trip has been interpreted as a key diplomatic push for Harris in her last days as vice president.
