Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz has made it clear that his country will not hesitate to act if Iran threatens its security again. On Thursday, he delivered a stern message during a speech at an Israeli Air Force graduation ceremony.
Katz said, “Israel’s long arm will reach you in Tehran, Tabriz, Isfahan, and anywhere you try to threaten or harm Israel. There is no place to hide.” He further added, “If we must return, we will do so with greater force.” His warning comes just weeks after a temporary halt to hostilities between the two nations.
June Conflict Sparks Ceasefire
In June, Israel launched a 12-day aerial assault on Iranian targets. The airstrikes raised international fears of a possible full-scale war in the Middle East. Tensions escalated quickly as the conflict threatened to drag other regional powers into the fighting.
Eventually, both countries agreed to stop the attacks. The United States played a key role in brokering the ceasefire. President Donald Trump announced the truce on June 23, calling it a “critical step to prevent further escalation.”
Strikes on Iranian Nuclear Facilities
As part of the military campaign, Israel targeted several of Iran’s nuclear sites. Israeli officials said they acted out of concern that Tehran was getting closer to producing a nuclear weapon. Iran, however, rejected those claims and insisted its nuclear program is only for peaceful purposes.
In a rare move, the United States also participated in the military action. American forces joined Israel in striking Iranian nuclear facilities. These joint attacks marked one of the most direct military engagements between the US and Iran in recent years.
Katz Signals No Compromise on Security
Israel Katz’s remarks indicate that Israel is prepared to act again if needed. His statement reflects the government’s ongoing concerns about Iran’s military capabilities and influence in the region. Though the ceasefire remains in place, tensions are still high. Both countries continue to monitor each other closely, and diplomatic channels remain fragile.
