Three children and a woman were shot to death in a fatal accident that occurred on Wednesday night in Pembroke Park, South Florida. Two other people, a male adult and a young girl, were taken to a hospital, although the fate of the victims is still not known, said the Associated Press.
The shooting took place at approximately 8 p.m. in the 3100 block of West Hallandale Beach Boulevard, said Michael Kane, Broward Sheriff’s Office fire rescue battalion chief, in an interview with the South Florida Sun Sentinel. The authorities received the call for emergency assistance at about 7:30 p.m., and the Broward Sheriff’s Homicide Unit has since initiated an investigation.
Evan Ross, a Pembroke Park Police spokesperson, confirmed that the shooting was domestic. CBS News quoted a neighbor who said he heard eight shots and claimed that the suspect tried to kill his entire family before taking the gun on himself.
Another neighbor, Angel Aquino, also shared the terror moments before the police arrived. “I just heard eight shots from the fourth floor, so I went out,” he stated. “A neighbor of mine told me a man attempted to kill all his family and attempted to kill himself,” he said, according to CBS News.
