Making a pointed commentary on U.S. immigration policy, Elon Musk called the Biden administration approach “upside down.” He reacted to Perplexity AI CEO Aravind Srinivas’ account of waiting more than three years for a green card. Commenting on the long wait for even skilled workers to get lawful residency, Musk said that he would “fix it” if Donald Trump were ever elected.
“We have an upside-down system that makes it hard for highly talented people to come to America legally, but trivial for criminals to come here illegally. Why is it easier to get in illegally as a murderer than legally as a Nobel Laureate?” Musk tweeted.
Supporting Trump’s immigration policy, Musk has publicly endorsed the ex-president, citing the problem of “open borders” and its effects on the United States.
It comes when Srinivas commented on X that obtaining a residency in the United States had been very complicated “I have been waiting for my green card for like the last 3 years. Still haven’t gotten it. People mostly have no idea when they talk about immigration,” Srinivas shared.
bodo.ai Chief Product Officer Rohit Krishnan triggered the conversation on how arduous immigration in the U.S. was saying, “I’ve immigrated 3x over and the U.S was by far the longest and hardest it’s been. Srinivas and Rohit Krishnan both comments reached over a million.
