A four-year-old US Chow Chow, Malbec, has swept social media off their feet with his extravagant travel life. As an Emirates Business Class frequent flyer, he gets to take two or three luxurious trips a year, living the comfort most people can hardly even imagine.
Malbec’s owner, a wine director and sommelier, makes first-class travel part of the norm. The couple travels from New York to Greece every summer, with Malbec snuggled up in his window seat and sleeping like an angel on the nine-hour flight. MS News mentioned that he is “well-behaved through the 9-hour and 15-minute flights, taking in views from his window seat and napping ‘like a pro.'”
Pampered Like a VIP Passenger
The Chow Chow doesn’t just rest in comfort—he also eats gourmet Business Class cuisine, much to the delight of being treated by passengers enchanted by his charm. Even the flight attendants treat him like a special guest, making his trip as pleasant as can be.
On his latest flight last January, Malbec encountered another high-flying pet in Business Class, demonstrating that some animals indeed live the life of luxury. Recounting the experience, his owner playfully quipped, “Leaving us wondering if we were born the wrong species.”
Born in Indianapolis, Malbec has been by his owner’s side since the age of five months and currently lives in New York. In possession of both U.S. and Greek passports, he was on his maiden transatlantic flight at age two, where his high-end, jet-set travels began.
Spotty Also Travels in Style
Malbec’s not the only dog living it up. In a going-viral on February 9 Instagram post, a Swiss Dalmatian named Spotty was spotted luxuriating in Singapore Airlines (SIA) Business Class. She even set off from the VIP passenger lounge. A video captured Spotty sitting quietly, observing the screen like any ordinary passenger, then curling up for a sleep in her comfortable seat. The sight of the well-mannered pup brought a smile to an SIA crew member passing by.
