Thomas praised Trevor Engelson, Meghan’s first husband, during an interview with the Daily Mail. Meghan and Trevor were married in 2011 but divorced in 2013 due to “irreconcilable differences.” Trevor has since remarried and has two daughters with his wife, Tracey Kurland.
Speaking about their relationship, Thomas said, “She should never have left Trevor. I really liked Trevor. I don’t think he ever understood why she dumped him either.”

A source close to the Sussexes revealed that Thomas’s comments upset Prince Harry. “Thomas has dealt a strong blow to Harry with the royal’s comparison to Meghan’s first husband,” the source told The News International. “His remarks feel like an insult, and Harry is angered by them.”
Thomas has been estranged from Meghan since before her wedding to Harry in 2018. He has yet to meet his son-in-law or his grandchildren.
