NYPD Releases New Photos of Suspect Allegedly Involved in UnitedHealthcare CEO’s Murder

UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was tragically shot and killed outside a hotel in New York just hours before an investor meeting. The police have called the attack “premeditated” and “targeted” and are now searching for the suspect. The New York Police Department (NYPD) released several photos of the gunman, including new unmasked images of him wearing a black hoodie and jeans. They have also announced a reward for information leading to his arrest.

NYPD Requests Public Assistance

The NYPD stated, “Here are photos of a person of interest wanted for questioning regarding the Midtown Manhattan homicide on Dec. 4. This does not seem like a random act of violence; all signs point to it being a premeditated, targeted attack.” The department further added, “The NYPD’s investigation is ongoing, and we urge the public to help. If you have any information, please call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $10,000 is available for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.”

Suspect Sparks Social Media Theories

The released photos quickly sparked theories on social media, with many pointing out the suspect’s resemblance to famous actors like Timothée Chalamet and Jake Gyllenhaal. One user wrote, “It’s Jake Gyllenhaal.” Another joked, “Jake Gyllenhaal wanted in connection with United CEO assassination,” sharing a side-by-side of the suspect and actor. A third person commented, “This is going to make a killer Netflix show (no pun intended). Jake Gyllenhaal, pick up the phone.” A fourth added, “He kind of looks like Jake Gyllenhaal to me.”

Others See Similarities to Timothée Chalamet

Some users, however, believed the suspect resembled Timothée Chalamet. One asked, “Did Timothée Chalamet kill the UnitedHealthcare CEO?” Another said, “A month ago, someone held a Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest in NYC. Yesterday, a man who looks like him was caught on camera killing the UnitedHealthcare CEO. What’s going on?”

“Timothée Chalamet keeps surprising me,” joked a third. A fourth commented, “The gunman who killed that CEO looks like Timothée Chalamet but none of you are ready for that conversation.”

Doubts About the Suspect’s Identity

However, some people questioned whether the man in the photos was the actual shooter. One user said, “Has no one noticed the guy in the photos is wearing a different jacket and backpack than the shooter? They changed clothes but didn’t cover their face while getting coffee? Something doesn’t add up.”

Another user added, “This is clearly not the same person. I predict a fall guy will be used. They don’t want the public to know how easy it is to kill a CEO in broad daylight and get away with it.”
