Golden Bear Win for ‘Dreams’
‘Dreams (Sex Love)’ has mesmerized audiences and critics to win the Golden Bear award, concluding Haugerud’s Dream Sex Love trilogy. It follows a teenage girl who turns her feelings for a teacher into a very personal essay. On receiving the award, Haugerud expressed his gratitude, “This was beyond my wildest dreams. Write more, read more- it expands your mind!”
The Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize went to ‘The Blue Trail’, a dystopian essay on the life and fate of the old in a future society. Iván Fund’s The Message took the Jury Prize with commendation for unique storytelling. Huo Meng, a Chinese director, was awarded Best Director for Living the Land, a sensitive look at country life.
Rose Byrne and Andrew Scott Win
‘If I Had Legs, I’d Kick You’ is a film about a therapist faced with the difficulties of working while being the single mother of a special needs child; this entire study of compromise, flaws, and loathsome moves has been exquisitely reflected by Rose Byrne.
Andrew Scott bagged Best Supporting Performance for being Broadway composer Richard Rodgers in Richard Linklater’s Blue Moon.
