On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the Raj Bhawan echoed with warmth, joy, and a spirit of inclusion, as Rajesh Singh Dayal, President of the National Association for Blind Uttar Pradesh and Founder of Rajesh Singh Dayal Foundation, celebrated the festival with the Honourable Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandi Ben Patel, along with hundreds of visually impaired children.
The day began with a grand welcome of the children at the Raj Bhawan, where Rajesh Singh Dayal personally escorted them to the event arena, ensuring their comfort and safety. The ceremony commenced with Rajesh Singh Dayal greeting the Honourable Governor, who tied the pious Raksha Dhaga on his wrist. In a gesture of deep respect, he then took her blessings by touching her feet.
One by one, the Honourable Governor lovingly tied Raksha Sutra to the visually impaired children and offered them sweets, making the moment truly special for each child. The gathering radiated happiness and pride, marking a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for these children to meet and interact with the Governor in such a warm setting—an initiative made possible by the tireless efforts of Rajesh Singh Dayal.
Adding to the day’s memories, Smt. Anandi Ben Patel presented a personally signed copy of her biography “Chunautiyan Mujhe Pasand Hai” to Rajesh Singh Dayal. She lauded his unwavering dedication to the welfare of the visually impaired and differently abled, highlighting his remarkable contribution as a humanitarian. She also congratulated him for being honoured with the title “Medicine Man of UP”, in recognition of his service in providing free health and medical aid to over 1.5 lakh people across the state.
The occasion was not just a festival celebration, but a heartfelt reminder that compassion, inclusion, and service to society truly bind communities together.
