The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has been closely tracking Cyclone Dana’s path, issuing timely updates through social media. According to an earlier statement, the IMD reported, “The severe cyclonic storm ‘Dana’ moved north-northwestwards with a speed of 12 kmph and lay centred over north coastal Odisha, about 15 km north of Dhamara.” The department added that the cyclone is expected to shift west-northwest, gradually weakening into a cyclonic storm by midday on October 25, under the continuous watch of the Doppler weather radar at Paradip.
