The Government’s announcement to reinstate subsidized helicopter services in the rural hilly districts of Jammu & Kashmir has ignited a wave of optimism among the local populace, providing a crucial lifeline for general public and tourism alike.
In response to the seasonal challenges faced by the residents of hilly regions in Jammu Division, Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar spearheaded a meeting today with Deputy Commissioners from Poonch, Rajouri, Doda, Kishtwar, and other stakeholders. The objective was to evaluate the preparedness for this eagerly anticipated revival.
The Div Com, recognizing the vital role of Nodal Officers, instructed Deputy Commissioners to appoint them and conduct joint inspections with the technical team from Global Vectra Helicorp. This collaborative effort aims to ensure the optimal readiness of designated helipads in their respective districts. The meeting extensively covered the intricacies of service initiation, discussing crucial aspects such as notifying timings and fare schedules to all designated locations.
In a commendable move towards streamlined coordination, the Div Com appointed the Joint Director of Tourism as the Nodal Officer, facilitating efficient collaboration with the service provider, Global Vectra Helicorp. The Joint Director Tourism has been tasked with establishing a dedicated counter and assembling a team for seamless ticket booking at TRC Jammu.
To ensure widespread awareness, the Div Com urged Deputy Commissioners to widely publicize and notify fares and timings at key locations such as hospitals and bus stands. Representatives from the Civil Aviation Department shared comprehensive details about routes and fares, assuring that this renewed helicopter service will not only bring relief to locals but will also prove invaluable during medical emergencies.
