IAF Jaguar Fighter Jet Crashes in Rajasthan’s Churu District

An Indian Air Force (IAF) Jaguar fighter plane crashed near Rajasthan’s Churu districtdefence sources told news agency ANI. The crash took place on Wednesday and other details regarding the accident are awaited.

“A Jaguar fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force has crashed near Churu district of Rajasthan. More details awaited,” ANI reported quoting defence sources.

The reasons behind the crash are still unknown, and a court of inquiry will conduct an investigation.

The Jaguar is a deep penetration strike fighter operated by the Indian Air Force for ground attack missions and is recognized by its dependability in diverse combat missions. The accident contributes to a string of air accidents that have concerned the operational status of aging aircraft in the IAF fleet.

The IAF has not issued a formal statement on the accident.
