In honor of the popularity of Chamkila, Imtiaz Ali’s biographical picture of Amar Singh Chamkila, Amul has released a new doodle.
Inspired by Chamkila, Amul unveiled a brand-new doodle on Twitter and Instagram on Monday. It features Amarjot from Parineeti in a floral suit and Chamkila from Diljit in a blue kurta pajama, both of them clutching butter toasts in their palms as they perform on stage. “Ek chammach khila (feed it to me with a spoon).” Amul referred to Chamkila as “Punjab da buttar” as well.

After liking the post, Diljit and Parineeti posted it on social media. Even director Anurag Kashyap shared the Amul topical on his Instagram stories, referring it Chamkila as the “best biopic ever made in India.”
Under the direction of Imtiaz Ali, “Amar Singh Chamkila” tells the untold true story of Punjab’s first mass-market rock star, who, at the age of 27, was assassinated after rising from the depths of poverty to the pinnacles of popularity in the 1980s owing to the sheer force of his music. Along the way, he enraged many people, which ultimately led to his downfall.
“#Amul Topical: Diljit Dosanjh makes waves in the Imtiaz Ali/AR Rahman hit musical drama, Amar Singh Chamkila,” Amul team captioned the post. Fans of the movie were happy with the artwork. “Super… both this image and movie,” read a comment. “Super creative for an awesome movie,” another user commented.
