The Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway and a famous investor Warren Buffett is optimistic and bullish on India’s future.
While attending the company’s annual meeting on Sunday, Warren Buffett declared there are many opportunities in India.
Later, responding to the question whether his company is hunting any opportunities in the country, he emphasized that there are “unexplored or unattended to opportunities and areas in India. without getting into any specifics.
Speaking more about the India’s opportunities, the investor further added that there are many opportunities in India, but he doubted, that does his company has any advantage.
“In India, I am sure that there are loads of opportunities in a place like India, and the question is do we have any advantage, in either insights into those businesses or contacts that will make possible for some transactions that participants in India would particularly want us to participate.”- said Warren Buffett.
He further continued that in order to pursue untapped opportunity, a more energetic management of Berkshire is needed. Because we have now developed a reputation around the world. Talking about his Japanese experience he said it was fascinating. But he emphasized that there are many unattended opportunities in India.
“I would say that’s something that more energetic management at Berkshire could pursue because we do have a reputation now and is known around the world and our Japanese experience has been fascinating. In that respect, so there may be an unexplored or unattended to opportunities and area (in India).” said the investor.
Now hinting about his foray in India, he announced that it wouldn’t waste much time in pursuing untapped opportunities in India. He also added that it is the new Berkshire management will be going to take a call on investment opportunity in India.
“We will see how the next management plays the game out at Berkshire and fortunately you don’t have too long to wait on that generally. “Said the legendary investor.
