According to a police officer, unidentified individuals are accused of taking items worth Rs 92,100 from a temple in the Thane region of Maharashtra. According to a police official from Bazarpeth police station, the crime happened on the night between Monday and Tuesday when the robbers are believed to have broken into a temple in the Kalyan neighbourhood and taken gold, silver jewellery, and other valuables.
He said a case was filed against unnamed individuals under Indian Penal Code sections 380 (stealing) and 457 (lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night in order to commit offence) in response to a complaint made by the temple priest. He stated in further that efforts were being made to catch the criminals.
