In a tragic incident in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, two heavily armed terrorists launched an attack at a workers’ camp on October 20, leaving seven people dead. Terrorists Captured on CCTV Footage

CCTV footage revealed that the terrorists, armed with an American-made M4 carbine and an AK-47, spent seven minutes at the camp during the assault. While no cameras captured the initial attack, footage shows the gunmen entering another area and firing at workers before attacking the mess hall.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the attackers placed a grenade inside a parked vehicle before opening fire on its driver. Witnesses reported hearing what they initially thought were firecrackers, only to realize moments later that it was a terror attack. Security officials discovered 37 to 40 spent cartridges at the crime scene.

Investigations and Security Response

Following the attack, senior police officers, along with officials from the National Investigation Agency and other security agencies, arrived at the site to investigate. Investigations suggest that the attackers may have recently infiltrated the Valley through the Bandipora district. The local police have picked up several individuals for questioning but have yet to identify the attackers, believed to be foreign militants.

At the time of the assault, over 200 workers and officers were present at the campsite. Security forces, including top police, army, and CRPF officers, continue to monitor the situation closely and frequently visit the site as investigations continue.
