Apple has officially launched the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, bringing major upgrades to the Pro iPhone lineup. The new models feature the A20 Pro chip, new 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, a smaller Dynamic Island, improved battery life, faster charging and new AI-powered features through iOS 27.
iPhone 18 Pro And iPhone 18 Pro Max Price In India
The iPhone 18 Pro starts at ₹1,64,900 for the 256GB storage variant. The iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at ₹1,79,900 for 256GB.
Both models are offered with 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB storage options. Higher-storage variants go up significantly in price, with the 2TB models reaching ₹3,14,900 in India.
The US starting prices are $1,199 for the iPhone 18 Pro and $1,299 for the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
iPhone 18 Pro Colours
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are available in four finishes:
- Black
- Silver
- Glacier
- Burgundy
Burgundy is the new colour introduced with the iPhone 18 Pro generation. Both phones use an aluminium unibody design with Ceramic Shield 2 on the front and Ceramic Shield on the back.
iPhone 18 Pro Display
The iPhone 18 Pro features a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a 2622 x 1206-pixel resolution and 460ppi.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max comes with a larger 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a 2868 x 1320-pixel resolution at 460ppi.
Both models support ProMotion with adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz, Always-On display, HDR, True Tone and Wide Colour P3.
Apple has also redesigned the Dynamic Island. The smaller Dynamic Island can display up to three Live Activities at the same time while continuing to support Face ID.
iPhone 18 Pro Camera Upgrades
Camera improvements are one of the biggest changes in the new Pro models. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max feature a 48MP Pro Fusion camera system. The main 48MP Fusion camera introduces variable aperture for the first time on an iPhone.
The aperture can switch between f/1.48, f/1.8, f/2.8 and f/4.0. This allows the camera to control light and depth of field more effectively. The camera system also includes a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera and a 48MP Fusion Telephoto camera. The telephoto system offers 4x optical zoom and up to 8x optical-quality zoom.
Apple has added Pro controls that allow users to manually adjust aperture, shutter speed and white balance. A histogram is also available for exposure control. The phones support 48MP macro photography, ProRAW, Photographic Styles 3, Night mode and advanced portrait features.
18MP Center Stage Front Camera
Both models get an 18MP Center Stage front camera with an f/1.9 aperture.
The camera supports autofocus, Center Stage for photos and video calls, Dual Capture, improved stabilisation and 4K Dolby Vision video recording.
This represents a notable upgrade for selfies, video calls and content creation.
A20 Pro Chip And Performance
The iPhone 18 Pro series is powered by Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, built using a 2nm process.
The chip has a 6-core CPU, a 7-core GPU with Neural Accelerators and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine. Apple says the new GPU can deliver up to 40% faster performance than the A19 Pro, while memory bandwidth has increased by 50%. The A20 Pro also supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing and is designed to handle demanding games, video workloads and on-device AI processing.
Apple has paired the chip with redesigned vapor chamber. The new thermal system has three times more surface area than the previous generation and is designed to provide stronger sustained performance during demanding workloads.
iPhone 18 Pro Battery And Charging
Battery life has received major upgrade.
The iPhone 18 Pro offers up to 34 hours of video playback, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max reaches up to 43 hours. For streamed video, Apple rates the phones at up to 31 hours and 38 hours respectively. The iPhone 18 Pro Max provides up to 29 hours of typical use according to Apple’s specifications.
Both models can reach up to 50% charge in around 15 minutes when paired with a compatible 60W or higher adapter and USB-C cable. MagSafe charging can reach 50% in around 30 minutes with a compatible 35W or higher adapter.
Apple has not officially disclosed the battery capacity in mAh, so specific figures such as 4,288mAh or 5,567mAh should not be treated as confirmed specifications.
iOS 27 And Siri AI
The iPhone 18 Pro series ships with iOS 27 and supports the latest Apple Intelligence features.
A major addition is the new Siri AI, which is designed to understand personal context, interact with information across apps and respond more naturally.
Apple is also introducing features such as onscreen awareness and Siri interaction through the Camera app. Apple Intelligence continues to combine on-device processing with Private Cloud Compute for privacy-focused AI processing.

iPhone 18 Pro Availability In India
Apple will open pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in India from 5:30 PM IST on September 12, 2026. The phones will be available from September 18 through Apple’s online and retail channels and authorised sellers.
With its variable-aperture camera, A20 Pro processor, upgraded thermal system, longer battery life, 18MP Center Stage camera and new AI capabilities, the iPhone 18 Pro series represents one of Apple’s most substantial Pro iPhone upgrades in recent years.
