Swapnil Kusale Wins Bronze, India’s 3rd Medal At Paris Olympics 2024

Indian shooter Swapnil Kusale clinched a bronze medal in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions final at the Paris 2024 Olympics, marking India’s third medal in the shooting events. Competing at the National Shooting Center in Châteauroux on Thursday, the 28-year-old athlete delivered an impressive performance across the three shooting positions.

Kusale finished third with a total score of 195 in the standing position, adding to his scores of 156.8 in the prone and 153.3 in the kneeling rounds. His consistent shooting throughout the event earned him a spot on the podium. In the qualifying round, Kusale had secured the seventh position with a cumulative score of 590, which included 38 inner 10s.

This achievement is historic for Indian shooting sports, as Swapnil Kusale becomes the first Indian to win an Olympic medal in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions event. The competition format involves shooting 15 shots each from kneeling, prone, and standing positions, followed by an elimination round.

Kusale’s remarkable performance underscores his skill and dedication, adding a significant milestone to India’s Olympic history.
