The reins of the Indian T20 team have been handed over to all-rounder Hardik Pandya, as both Kohli and Rohit chose to take a back seat in the shortest format.

In a recent interview, Rohit Sharma addressed the inquisitive minds of cricket enthusiasts when probed about the conspicuous absence of himself and Kohli from the T20 format. The Indian captain offered a window into the rationale behind their decisions, drawing parallels to the preceding year. “Last year also we did the same thing the T20 World Cup was there, so we didn’t play one-day cricket. Now also we are doing the same, the ODI World Cup is there, so we are not playing T20s,” Rohit explained, shows light on the strategic mindset adopted by the senior players.
