Reliance’s JioStar Set to Reap Mega Earnings from IPL 2025: Here’s the Projected Revenue

With only two days remaining before the start of the IPL 2025, everyone is looking forward to the revenue through this year’s tournament. According to reports, the IPL 2025 has the potential to generate a revenue of Rs 6,000 crore to Rs 7,000 crore, fuelled by TV ad revenues, digital platforms, team sponsorships, and on-ground advertising.

Mukesh Ambani-owned JioStar owns the TV and digital rights of the IPL officially and is set to push highest revenues this season. The company, having recently concluded the Champions Trophy, has a tough target of Rs 4,500 crore from advertisement revenue till IPL 2025, over last year’s estimated revenue of Rs 4,000 crore.

With as many as 12 sponsors already in place for IPL 2024, media buyers believe that all 10 IPL teams together could rake in as much as Rs 1,300 crore in team sponsorship money. Top franchises such as Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, and Royal Challengers Bangalore are likely to pocket between Rs 100 crore and Rs 150 crore each.

Most of the teams have nearly sold out their sponsorship properties, each commanding eight to ten sponsors. The big brands like Jio and Dream11 have partnered with some franchises, yet again strengthening their presence in the tournament.

BCCI is likely to earn Rs 800 crore to Rs 900 crore through central sponsorships. Big BCCI sponsors are Tata Group, My11Circle, Ceat, and AngelOne.

IPL 2025 is growing in its commercialization and is expected to set new benchmarks in sponsorship and ad revenues. JioStar TV sponsorship rates range from Rs 106 crore for co-powered sponsorships to Rs 239 crore for co-presenting sponsorships. Digital ad placement has a 10-second ad costing Rs 8.5 lakh in Connected TV (CTV) and mobile video ads are priced at Rs 250 per 1,000 impressions (CPM).
