Former Australian cricketer Simon Katich, who previously worked as a coach for Royal Challengers Bangalore alongside Virat Kohli, made a pointed remark after Kohli’s dismissal in the second innings of the fourth Test. While commentating for SEN Cricket, Katich indicated that Kohli’s wicket was a crucial turning point, claiming that Jasprit Bumrah has now become the most vital player in the Indian team.

“The King is dead,” Katich stated when Kohli was out for just five runs in India’s chase of 330 runs. Kohli’s dismissal, when he reached for a ball outside the off stump and was caught behind, dashed any slim hopes India had of surviving on the final day.
Katich further commented, “The King is dead. He walks off. King Bumrah has taken on the role now. Kohli appears disappointed with himself. That was an important innings for him. He has fallen short. Australia will be very satisfied with the situation they find themselves in. ”
The fourth Test ended in a disappointing 184-run defeat for India, with both Kohli and Rohit Sharma failing to make a significant impact, reflecting their declining form. In pursuit of 340, India was bowled out for 155, losing seven wickets for merely 34 runs in the final session. The teams are scheduled to meet again for the series’ last Test in Sydney on January 3.
