Indian Super League 2024-25: Khalid Jamil Lauds Hard Work in Jamshedpur FC’s 2-1 Win

Jamshedpur FC head coach Khalid Jamil commended his team’s effort and unity after their thrilling 2-1 comeback victory against Bengaluru FC in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25. The victory, achieved on Saturday night, showcased the team’s determination and teamwork.

Second-Half Turnaround Secures Win

Initially, Bengaluru FC took the lead early, with Alberto Noguera scoring in the first half. However, Jamshedpur FC responded brilliantly after the break. Jordan Murray leveled the score, and Muhammad Uvais sealed the victory with a decisive second goal. Consequently, this marked Jamshedpur’s eighth win of the season.

Jamil attributed the win to his players’ dedication. “Because of the players, they have worked very hard. We deserve to win this game because the players are working very hard. They have unity among themselves. That is a good point. You must keep it up like this and maintain the record,” he said, as quoted by ISL.com.

Climbing the Rankings

As a result of this win, Jamshedpur FC moved to fourth place in the ISL standings, accumulating 24 points from 13 matches. Furthermore, Jamil emphasized his players’ ability to adapt and solve problems during the game. “They (the players) are mature. I don’t have to give them instructions. They are solving the problem. And they are having that feeling that we must come back again,” he explained.

Collective Contributions Shine

In addition to the win, Jamil praised the contributions of his entire squad. “Jordan (Murray), (Javier) Siverio, even Javi (Hernandez), he tried his best. Rei (Tachikawa) also, did a good job. Lazar Cirkovic… he also worked hard. Ritwik Das, Albino Gomes, Muhammad Uvais, and Nikhil Barla also did a good job… everybody worked very hard. That is a good point,” he noted.

Fans Boost the Team

Moreover, Jamil acknowledged the vital role of the fans in the team’s success. Jamshedpur FC has been strong at home this season, losing only once at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. Their home support has been a crucial factor in securing key points. “It is very important (the support of the fans). They must support us. And the players are motivated. Because of the support, we got these points,” Jamil said.

Looking Ahead

Despite the significant victory, Jamil urged his team to stay focused on upcoming matches. He reminded them of the importance of taking it one game at a time. “Still a long way to go. We must think about the next game. That is the most important thing,” he stressed.

Jamshedpur FC will next face Mumbai City FC at the Mumbai Football Arena on January 12th. Undoubtedly, the team will aim to maintain their momentum and continue climbing the league standings.
