Mohun Bagan Super Giant secured a 3-0 victory over Hyderabad FC at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Thursday. As a result, they stayed at the top of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 table.

Early Mistakes and First Goal

The match began with both teams making errors early on. Vishal Kaith almost gave away a goal but managed to clear it just in time. On the other hand, Arshdeep Singh made a costly mistake in the ninth minute. Liston Colaco passed the ball to Sahal Abdul Samad, whose shot was parried by the goalkeeper. The rebound hit Stefan Sapic’s face and went into the net for an own goal, giving Mohun Bagan the lead.

In the 17th minute, Mohun Bagan had a chance to extend their lead. Anirudh Thapa stole the ball and played it to Jamie Maclaren, who missed an open goal after sidestepping the last defender and the keeper. Additionally, Liston Colaco had multiple opportunities but failed to make the right passes.

In the 51st minute, Jason Cummings sealed the victory for Mohun Bagan by scoring their third goal. He finished off a perfectly weighted pass from Jamie Maclaren with a clinical left-footed shot.

Hyderabad’s Late Efforts

Despite the scoreline, Hyderabad FC didn’t give up and made several substitutions. Muhammed Rafi crossed the ball to Allan Paulista, but Vishal Kaith made a key save. In added time, Abijith missed a chance from inside the six-yard box, and the match ended 3-0 in Mohun Bagan’s favor.
