Ahead of Gujarat Titans’ next IPL 2025 clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad, their director of cricket, Vikram Solanki, praised Mohammed Siraj for his excellent spell in the previous match. The right-arm pacer had delivered a standout performance against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Siraj bowled his full quota of four overs and took 3 wickets for just 19 runs. His tight and aggressive bowling helped control the opposition’s scoring. As a result, he was named Player of the Match.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Solanki said, “Sometimes we expect and ask a lot of young cricketers, and somebody that has achieved as much as Siraj has, sometimes we are very quick to judge one or two performances. He is exceptional since he joined us.”
Siraj gets back in rhythm
Although Siraj had a rough start with Gujarat Titans, he bounced back strongly against his former team, RCB. He looked sharp and confident throughout his spell.
First, he dismissed Devdutt Padikkal with a delivery that came in sharply and knocked over the stumps. Siraj then celebrated in style, copying Cristiano Ronaldo’s famous move.
In his second over, he bowled at 144 kmph and clean bowled Phil Salt, adding a second wicket to his tally. Later, in the death overs, he returned to remove Liam Livingstone, who had scored 54 runs. Siraj forced a top edge that ended Livingstone’s stay at the crease. That dismissal also dented RCB’s chances of crossing the 200-run mark.
Gujarat Titans climbing the table
Currently, Gujarat Titans, led by Shubman Gill, sit in third place on the IPL 2025 points table. They have won two out of their three matches and collected four points so far. Their next game is against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday. The match will take place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
